The tour starts with a panoramic view from the Montjuïc Mountain, from where the urban structure of the city can be admired. The group will also see some of the buildings built for the 1992 Olympic Games:
- The Palau Sant Jordi was one of the main venues of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Nowadays, it is used for all kinds of indoor sport events as well as for concerts and other cultural activities, due to its great flexibility.
It is an indoor sporting arena and multi-purpose installation. The maximum seating capacity of the arena is 17,000 for sporting events and 20,000 for musical events. It was opened in 1990 and designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki.
- The Olympic Stadium of Barcelona was built in 1929. In 1992 it was renovated to house the Olympic Games. The façade has been maintained and the interior has been rebuilt. It has a capacity of up to 77,000 spectators. It can stage sporting competitions, musical performances or any type of popular event. The opening ceremony of the 1992 Olympic Games took place at the Olympic Stadium.
After the visit the tour will continue to the stadium of the FC Barcelona, the main soccer team of the city.
With a capacity for 100,000 spectators it is one of the biggest stadiums in the world. You can visit the museum, as well as the VIP rooms, the changing rooms for players, and you can take a seat in the covered VIP area and see the pitch!
